A quick update

I wrote my last column for Sports Illustrated today. Emotional times. But I believe good times are ahead. More information to follow on Project X.*

*A few hints based on some of your questions: It's not a baseball project; it's not a USA Today specific project; it's not something that will have me writing less, and it's not a project that will require learning Jiu jitsu or how to speak Portuguese (though I could choose to try and learn those things, if I wish).

So you know: This blog is about to go through a full makeover … and it's about to start exploding with CLPs and Pozterisks and insane baseball tangents and lists and Snuggies once more. So hang in there, if you can.

I can tell you that the first post for Blog Mach 2 will be about my oldest daughter's first real love of sports, and the shocking direction that love took.

  2. Personally, I'm waiting for you to continue with your restaurant review series. Up next, "Chili's or Applebee's - which one is more mediocre?"

  3. Joe, as long as you keep writing sentences like these, I'll follow you anywhere:

"Oosthuizen’s swing is so gorgeous and alluring that it probably receives dozens of marriage proposals every year. Bubba’s swing is not the marrying kind."

  4. Any word on the Poscast? I want to listen to more 2+ hr conversations with Michael Schur! His Star Wars team would beat yours handily.

  9. Looking forward to it! Obviously I will read whatever the new project is, even if it's not about sports.

  10. Though I"m pretty sure you can do lots of things almost as well as you write, I'm confident that Jiu Jitsu would not be one of them. I'm relieved that you don't have to try it (though that WOULD be a funny column).
